Imperfect (incomplete) Thread -
Included Angle -
In fastener geometry, the total angle from a plane or line, defining one limit of a feature to the opposite limit of that feature. Useful for association with related forming tools; for example, flush heads.
Inclusions -
Particles of non-metallic impurities contained by metal.
Insert -
An internally threaded fastener designed to be retained permanently within the workpiece.
Interference -
The condition which exists when a larger fastener is forced into a smaller hole. Classes of interference-fit are defined in NAS618.
Intergranular Corrosion -
See Corrosion
Internal Wrenching -
The application of torque by means of a tool which mates with a recess in the fastener. Also used adjectively with reference to the recess.
